Help!  I’ve logged in and now I don’t know how to get back to the main / normal website?

To change from the User area to the main website – look in the upper-left corner of your screen and click on the website name (where it says “Visit Site”)

How is this website different from the other ICOC Church websites – like Disciples Today, ICOC Hot News, DT Space?

The internet has been a great resource to the disciples of these modern times – let’s use it to it’s full advantage!  This website was setup in response to the International Singles Conference 2008 where a leadership team was setup to help guide and encourage the Singles Ministries of the ICOC. This site is focused exclusively on the Singles Ministries – hoping to be a ‘one stop shop’ for the events, news, directory, etc from these groups.  This site will not be a ’social network’ – we have the above listed (and many more…) websites that are dedicated for that functionality.

I have a great story or event submission for the site regarding the Singles Ministry in my Church – How do I submit these?

There exists a variety of ways to send in the good news of how the Lord is working in your ministry.  You can send the story to ’submit@icocsinglestoday.com’ with the subject line [IST Story Submission].  Please be sure to include your ‘username’ on this website so that we can attribute the story to you.  If you have pictures, please send them as attachments to the email (preferably compressed in a .zip file).

Where can I find information about the Singles Ministry in my area?

Please check out our Directory Area that contains website links, contact names / email / etc.  You also might consider researching your area in our Church-wide directory located here.

My screen seems to be missing parts and/or is not nice looking?

Browser technology continues to advance – we would suggest that you view this website with the latest/greatest version of the browser that your system is using.  It looks like it should on:

• Internet Explorer v7 (but not so nice on v6)
• FireFox v3 (you can download from http://getfirefox.com )
• Safari

There is a custom screen for WAP / Phone browsers that convert the site from it’s full version into a smaller phone version – in this case space optimization is preferred over visual applealing layout.

How do I get that cool picture next to my name in comments, etc?

Those pictures are known as Globally Recognized Avatar’s (where an avatar is a custom picture of you or one that you choose to represent you or your style).  Gravatar’s are ‘Globally Recognized’ as they are setup on a ‘master site’ and then any/all blogging software can access your picture based on your email address.  To start / learn about Gravatars – check out http://gravatar.com and sign-up (make sure that you use the same email address that you signed up with here)….then in a few days, your picture will appear with your postings/comments here!

I have a User Account here – now what can I do?

Currently, the only thing a User Account allows you to do is add comments to the news stories.  Remember that this site is not really a Social Networking site (that’s what sites like DTSpace are all about).  Have some thoughts about how we should use User Accounts?  Send us some Feedback
