The Montgomery County Church of Christ is hosting their Singles Retreat 2010 event entitled, “Victorious Faith” on September 3-5, 2010 at the Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort (16701 Lakeview Road NE, Cumberland, Maryland, 21530).
The classes covered will offer insights into a variety of areas that are key to victorious living, including:
- Choosing to love instead of harboring resentment
- Facing our fears with courage
- Choosing Godly ways rather then worldly ways
- Choosing to believe in faith rather then live in doubt
- Tapping in the power of prayer and fasting
Singles SOARing in Manila (Part 3)

Over 1,470 singles disciples from 28 countries SOARed this past weekend in Manila at the 2010 ICOC International Singles Conference.
On Sunday, the singles joined with the entire Metro Manila church for a time of praising God. Over 6,000 disciples praised God in song, dance, prayer, communion and fellowship. Brothers prayed in 5 languages. Good news was shared from Thailand, the Middle East and Manila. Marco Pelizzeri from Los Angeles, challenged everyone to be Sold Out And Rejoice.

Over 1,470 singles disciples from 28 countries SOARed this past weekend in Manila at the 2010 ICOC International Singles Conference.
Friday morning saw a (very!) early start with the first classes beginning already at 8am! But the singles rose to the occasion and classrooms were full as they heard people from around the world teaching and sharing about Relationships (with God, with your physical family, with other singles), Excellence in your character, SOARing as single parents and being Single & Joyful.

With classes, speeches, HOPE tours, worship devotionals, mixers, Bible Talk leader workshops, and lots of opportunities for fellowship, the singles are being inspired to SOAR to great heights, life their spirits, realize their dreams and return to the days of old when the singles ministries rocked!

As a result, Next Life Gaming was born. NLG is a simple website where disciples can meet other disciples, discuss video games, and exchange gamer and contact information to play online with other brothers and sisters. Divorce & Remarriage Discussion w/ Dr. Jacoby

On Sunday August 15 (only), Dr. Douglas Jacoby will be teaching on the subject of ‘Divorce & Remarriage’ and some other subjects on how culture impacts Christianity at the DFW Church of Christ located in Dallas, Texas. This can be a tricky topic to navigate and understand God’s will for our lives if we’re in this situation. What do the scriptures say? How are we to interpret them? What are the cultural influences? One of the books Douglas will be using is Rubel Shelly’s “Divorce & Remarriage – a Redemptive Theology” to bring clarity and understanding to this subject.

Celebrating Valentines Day – African Style

And so on a day when the world celebrated the annual holiday of Valentine’s with flowers, confectionery, and greeting cards to express love and affection, especially between intimate companions, the professionals (singles) ministry of Central super-region in Nairobi ICOC converged on the lush vast grasslands of Kitengela to celebrate not just love but life in Christ as well.
The enchanting Valentine’s was celebrated at the home of Dr. James Kulubi in Olooitikosh near the Maasai Ostrich Farm in Kitengela, some 45 Km South of Nairobi, Kenya.
The singles arrived at the venue mid-morning showing elegance in resplendent African dress. The camaraderie and pageantry on display became reminiscent of the robust fellowship of the first century disciples (Acts 2:44). Read the rest of this entry »
Singles ‘Summerbration’ in Cincinnati, OH

We are having a picnic at the beautiful Winton Woods park all day Saturday (5/29). On Sunday (5/30) there will be service and then we head downtown Cincy to the Taste of Cincinnati.
