A Church that ‘feels the love’ – Belize, Central America June 20th, 2009
Hello, my name is Tania and I am a single sister in the full time Ministry serving the church in Belize, Central America. We are a spiritual family of 33 members which is undergoing a transition of leadership. I am currently leading the Women’s Ministry and for the past nine months we have been looking for a brother to lead our church. In the meantime, God has been blessing us in a variety of ways by sending several Singles and Married Couples to serve and encourage the church. It’s been a time where the love and unity in the kingdom of God are so obvious.
Everything started last year, when God gave me the special opportunity to serve at the 2008 International Singles Conference “Visions and Dreams” in Dallas, Texas. God had great things in store for Belize by putting us on the hearts of several disciples in Dallas. As a result of my time at ISC and the network God created during my visit; in December 2008 we had Bruce Davis
the first single brother from Dallas visiting us, who came to serve, preach, love and encourage us. We are very grateful for his devoted heart and commitment to love and serve his Belizean family. He will be visited us for the fifth time in six months, yeaaahhh!! Additionally, God has used Bruce to inspire other singles to love and serve, just as he has done it, so we had the joy of receiving Raymond Bush for two weeks (who also helped me to be ab
le to partake of that life-changing conference) and Kathy Parker who shared a great class to the women named “God’s Princess”. Also, we had the great pleasure to have among us one of the directors of ISC along with his wife: Marvin and Sharisse Lucas, God used their hearts and expertise to help build up our Married Ministry. Thank you very much to the Dallas Church for loving us so much!! Thank you so much Bruce!!

God has also brought to us more singles from other churches. At the beginning of February we were encouraged by the visit of Antonio Rivas, a single brother from the Church in Guatemala, City who stayed two weeks loving, serving, encouraging and preach. A month later, we also we had the great joy to receive David Roper, a member
of the mission team planting the Clemson Foothills Church of Christ and Kenny Setzer from Athens, Georgia – they both came and devoted themselves to love, serve, teach the Belizean people for a week. In addition to all of them, we were visited by another awesome married couple from the Chicago Church of Christ: David and Robin Weidner – the author of the Secure in Heart book. They both came to preach at our Annual Men and Women’s Conference and were of great help to our Married Ministry and the church as a whole with their great hearts of love, passion for God, his word, and his Kingdom.
About our women’s conference, God had a different plan and it had to be posponed due to goverment’s regulations regarding AH1N1 as that exact weekend they did not allow gatherings of over 50 people; nonetheless, by the amazing grace of God, Melinna Martinez, the Reporter who interviewed Robin to promote the Conference and her book was baptized on May 30, becoming the third single sister added to the Kingdom in this first half of the year. God is Awesome!
Please continue to pray for us and for the Kingdom of God to continue to advance in this Beautiful Caribbean Central American Country, Belize!!!
